Biomids Persistent Proctor
Biomids Persistent Proctor employs best-in-class facial recognition biometrics via a computer’s webcam in one of the most secure, cost-effective, scalable, and convenient solutions for authenticating users and/or proctoring their online tests. This fully automated software solution is available either as a downloaded app or via web service. It is the only solution available for the convenient authentication of online students at any time, to ensure the identity of actual participants apart from test proctoring.
The user first “enrolls” in Biomids Persistent Proctor by snapping several “selfies” at the computer screen. Thereafter, the user’s face is recognized when properly positioned in front of the computer, either to confirm identity (authentication) at any desired time, or to monitor behavior during a test (proctoring) where Persistent Proctor employs continuous (persistent) authentication.
During proctored testing, Biomids Persistent Proctor records various “anomalies” on an instructor dashboard suggestive of possible cheating: a different face, no face, multiple faces, face looking askance, etc. Complete video and screen capture recordings are made, and a log is kept of any websites visited during the test (unless the browser has been locked down.) All data is made available from the dashboard.
When a proctored test is completed the dashboard data is automatically uploaded to the authorized instructor/administrator. It shows a listing of any anomalies (failures to authenticate) and any websites visited. A click on an entry causes clips of the associated section of the video, screen capture, and/or website visited to be displayed, making a large amount of data on testing integrity easily available for review.
